"In de improvisaties van het drietal klinkt rockmuziek door, maar ook jazz, vrije improvisatie en minimalisme. Ergens op het snijvlak van die genres opereert Tàlveg, dat daarmee een behoorlijk eigen en direct herkenbare sound heeft. De muzikanten behoren echter niet tot het soort dat zijn eigen vindingen koestert en louter daarop voortborduurt. Er mogen muzikale risico’s worden genomen en die neemt men dus ook. Ondertussen blijft – als het ware vanzelf – de eigen sound intact.
As It Fades is een verrassend album van drie muzikanten die gezamenlijk nog lang niet uitverteld zijn. Verwacht geen revolutionaire veranderingen, maar Tàlveg stopt overduidelijk meer peper in zijn muziek dan voorheen. Daarmee verbreedt het trio zijn horizon zonder aan de basisprincipes te morrelen. Het leidt tot een levendig album dat van de eerste tot de laatste noot boeit."

"Rock music can be heard in the improvisations of the trio, but also jazz, free improvisation and minimalism. Somewhere on the cutting edge of those genres, Tàlveg operates, which gives it a quite unique and immediately recognizable sound. The musicians, however, do not belong to the kind that cherishes their own inventions and only builds on them. Musical risks may be taken and they are therefore taken. In the meantime – as it were naturally – the own sound remains intact.
As It Fades is a surprising album by three musicians who are far from be finished together. Don't expect revolutionary changes, but Tàlveg clearly puts more pepper into his music than before.
